Volunteers In Medicine Clinic (Springfield)VIM provides free health-care to low income residents with no health insurance (and not qualified for OHP) in the Lane Country. Most of the doctors and staff at the clinic are volunteers. Each shift is 4 hours. Volunteers can choose to work at the following area (depend on the license/certificate) within the clinic: front office (including scheduling office, medical record office, and reception), nursing unit, dispensary, and lab. Sacred Heart Medical Center (Eugene/Springfield)There are two local branches in the Eugene/Springfield area. One is located in the University District at 1255 Hilyard Street, Eugene, and the other one is located in Springfield at 3333 Riverbend Drive, Springfield. Regular responsibilities include assisting nursing units with patient care, such as meal assistance, basic clerical work, stocking, patient visits, etc. Volunteers are allowed to choose to work at different departments each term (if spots are not filled up yet).
